SOTA proudly announces the launch of Archivio SOTA, a new physical and digital space dedicated to historical design, blending archive fashion and interior design in a curated and immersive experience. Located at Via della Frezza 57, the space will host bi-monthly thematic exhibitions, showcasing 30 iconic fashion pieces and 5 unique design objects, alongside special projects that explore the dialogue between these two creative fields.
Each exhibition draws from the private collection of SOTA, built over years of meticulous research and preservation. The garments, mostly deadstock and often still with original tags, are in exceptional condition, while the design objects reflect an uncompromising dedication to craftsmanship and aesthetic value. The fashion pieces will be available for online purchase one week after the exhibition launch at archivio.sotastore.it, while the design objects will be exclusively available in-store.
INAUGURAL EXHIBITION: AN INTERSECTION OF FASHION AND DESIGN
The debut exhibition at Archivio SOTA highlights the deep connection between fashion and design, presenting a selection of iconic fashion pieces alongside exceptional furniture designs by some of the most visionary creators, including Franco Albini, Rei Kawakubo, Martin Margiela, Gino Sarfatti, and Jun Takahashi.
Archivio
Spanning the 1990s and 2000s, the collection features thirty carefully curated garments, each chosen for its historical significance and aesthetic value. This curatorial approach embraces a dynamic interplay between heritage and contemporary appreciation, free from a rigid thematic structure.
The selection of furnishings, presented in collaboration with Giustini / Stagetti gallery, features architecturally driven, essential designs—one-of-a-kind pieces originally conceived for private commissions. Through this collaboration, Archivio SOTA explores the interdisciplinary dialogue between architecture and design, further reinforcing its mission to bridge these two artistic realms.
