The FÒLIA ceramics collection, created exclusively for Sota, presents two trays and a vase, each featuring a distinctive denim blue finish. The surface treatment of the ceramics is designed to create a dynamic play of coverage and transparency, allowing the glaze to interact with the material in subtle, fluid ways. This limited edition, with only 5 pieces available, ensures each item is unique. Every piece is individually numbered and accompanied by an artist statement, making it a collectible work of art.
Materials & Finishes
The FÒLIA collection is crafted through a meticulous artisanal process by Rometti Ceramiche. Each piece is formed by pressing raw clay against a specially designed wooden template, and is then finished by hand to ensure precision and quality. The ceramics are coated with an ultra-gloss enamel, providing a sleek, iridescent finish that enhances the depth and texture of the pieces.
The Installation at ARCHIVIO Sota
The concept behind FÒLIA draws inspiration from a recurring sight in the urban landscape of Rome: spaces where fragmented architectural elements meet the earth, allowing spontaneous plants and herbs to emerge. This interaction between man-made fragments and nature is captured in the design of the collection. The ceramics evoke the moment when the city absorbs these fragments and transforms them into new, unexpected architectural forms.
This imagery speaks to the impermanence of both Rome’s architectural landscape and the ongoing research that informs the work of Naessi. The collection, like the city itself, is a reflection of constant transformation and reinvention.
